Firefox has tons of extensions that enhance the functionality of the browser. Make your Web surfing easier with these add-ons. The 5 Firefox Add-ons listed below is my recommendations to help make your life easier.

5 Firefox Add-ons to make your Life Easier

1. SmarterFox: Browse Faster 1.3.4

smarterfox

SmarterFox helps you with finding information and visiting your favorite sites. Browse faster by speeding up common tasks like convert text URLs into click-able links. Automatically copy on select or paste on right click (NOT enabled by default) and adds “related articles” side-pane to Wikipedia.

Google search results automatically show up in the Awesomebar/URL bar as you type so that you don’t have to click though Google first. Visit bookmarks quickly with keyboard shortcuts using qLauncher.

2. Read It Later

readitlater

Read It Later makes your life simple and organized, it so much easier to browse the web without needing to add numerous bookmarks for sites you don’t want. Save pages to a reading list to read when you have time.

If you want to do some reading while away from an internet connection, on the plane or train, before disconnecting click ‘Read Offline’ to have Read It Later download the pages from on your list for offline access. Switch Firefox to ‘Work Offline’ and you are good to go.

3. Open IT Online

openit

Open IT Online allows you to open and edit your documents and images online from everywhere without the need of any software to be installed. It supports Google Docs. No need to install Microsoft Office, Star Office, Open Office, Photoshop or any other application: you just need Open IT Online.

It handles:
- Documents (*.doc, *.docx, *.rtf, *.odt, *.sxw)
